What roller repair is

Sliding glass (patio) doors ride on small wheels called rollers at the bottom of the panel. Over years — and faster near the coast, where salt and sand grind them down — the rollers wear flat, seize, or crack. Replacing them with the correct standard or impact-rated rollers (and cleaning the track they run in) restores a smooth, quiet glide and gets years more life out of your existing door.

Common symptoms

• The door is heavy or hard to slide
• It grinds, screeches, or sounds rough when it moves
• It catches, drags, or jumps off the track
• You can see flat-spotted or broken wheels at the bottom
• The door sits unevenly or won't seal/latch properly

What we check

• Roller condition, type, and load rating (standard vs impact-rated)
• The bottom track for wear, debris, salt/sand fouling, or damage
• Door height/adjustment and how it sits in the frame
• Whether the lock, handle, and weatherstrip still line up after adjustment

Then we fit the correct rollers, clean and adjust the track, and re-hang the door so it glides smoothly — usually in a single visit.
